The Cursed Grave of Carl Pruitt is a supposedly-haunted a gravestone curse. One of the strangest and most disturbing, however, is the story of Carl Pruitt from Kentucky, who, after committing murder and then suicide, apparently did not stop his rampage even after death. Legends say that his terrible curse brought death to many people who dared to desecrate his grave.
Description[]
In June 1938, Pruitt was returning home from work expecting to find his wife in the kitchen. But instead, he found her in the bedroom with another man, which drove him insane. So Pruitt grabbed the chain and began strangling his wife while her lover escaped to safety. After this act, the desperate man grabbed his gun and turned it on himself.
However, the family of the murdered woman rejected the possibility that Pruitt should be buried in the local cemetery along with other decent citizens, which the authorities eventually agreed to. So they ended up burying the man in another place that was miles away. However, there began a series of ghostly events that were attributed to the restless spirit of Carl Pruitt, or even his curse. A few weeks later, cemetery workers noticed that the headstone on Pruitt's grave had turned into a bright chain pattern. Other visitors have noticed that the grass on his grave changes color and creates unusual circular patterns.
These patterns are said to have merged over time and formed, as usual, a chain pattern. Crowds of curious people quickly began to gather at the grave, and it didn't take long for the grave of the "chain strangler" to become the target of vandals. A local boy named James Collins was throwing rocks at Pruitt's grave one day, but on his way home he fell off his bicycle so unluckily that the bicycle chain wrapped around his neck and strangled him. The boy's mother subsequently destroyed the grave with an ax in grief, which apparently made the curse even stronger.
After Carl’s death, strange occurrences began to happen in the town. People claimed to hear eerie sounds coming from the direction of Carl’s grave, and some even reported seeing his ghost wandering the cemetery at night. It is said that those who dared to disturb Carl’s grave would meet a terrible fate themselves.
