The Danbury Frog People are a family of strange mutant humanoids that are rumored to live in Danbury, Conneticut. The Fairfield County Weekly ran a short mention of the Frog People in 1998, placing them in nearby Bethel.
Appearance[]
The Frog People were described as possessing large lemon-shaped heads with eyeballs on the sides, thin crusty lips and wide mouths, and sunken noses and slit nostrils. They have patchy hair that sit upon their abnormally-large heads, and their bodies are thin and gangly.
Possible Explanations[]
There are several explanations as to what the creature could be. Theories include:
- Extraterrestrial
- A pygmy human subspecies
Notable Encounters[]
- NOTE: Both of these accounts come from Conneticut native Brian Hines.
The summer before my junior year of high school a friend's mother was running a version of meals-on-wheels at a local church. I volunteered to help. Two friends and I would go around Danbury door to door to give out lunches to unfortunates. In one of my houses were the Frog People. They share a family name I can't remember. They wouldn't come to the door; we were told to knock on the door and then leave the food there. Being mischievous kids, we would hide and wait. I never got awesome views, but the door would crack open and a hand would come out. They would snatch the food. [sic]
A year later, I'm at my local grocery store around 11:00 OM, with the same two friends. We were walking down the canned goods aisle, and there's a Frog Person. He has penny loafers and a short-sleeved dress shirt tucked into khaki pants. He was going through soups. We gasped. He turned and saw us, and I'll tell you what; it was not as horrific as described.
His head was lemon-shaped. He had a bad lazy eye. His face was sort of stretched, and his eyes and nose looked far apart. He had sores on his very thin lips. He really did have a very froggy appearance. however, he had a normal head of hair. I'd go so far as to say it was even sort of nice, parted on the side. He had a bobble head sort of appearance and was very gangly.
Then a girl came around the corner; blond hair, pretty well groomed. That added to the creepiness of it. if you saw them from behind, they would look totally normal, but if you turn one around, it's a monster! I know it sounds mean, but they did look like two frogs. They darted away and quickly made their way out of the aisle. [sic]Trivia[]
- One of the most common legends about the Frog People is that they do not take kindly to outsiders.
