Figure alleged to have roamed the Arizonan frontier in the late 19th century. It was said to have been a large, red camel, with a bleached human skeleton upon its back. Legends of it were widespread across Arizona, up until its supposed death before the dawn of the 20th century. In 1893 a farmer shot the camel and found that there was an actual human skeleton strapped to its back.

The spirit was first sighted in 1883 by the wives of two ranchers. One of the women heard screams outside her home and ran to the window, only to see a large, frightening beast trample the other woman to death.
Days later, a pair of prospectors who were camping just several miles from the original attack were awoken by a massive animal crashing through their tent. They scrambled outside and saw the creature run into the darkness. They later found large hoofprints and red hairs near their campsite.
