The Devil's Gate Reservoir is a large, brush-filled flood channel in Pasadena, California. The reservoir has been the site of many disappearances, mainly of young children. Rumors about the reservoir sometimes involve a cult that have opened a portal to another dimension.
Background[]
The cult rituals were said to have taken place in the Southern Californian outback in late 1946 and were conducted by John Parsons, co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and L. Ron Hubbard, the future founder of Scientology. The rituals were rumored to be for the purpose of creating a "moonchild", a sort of anti-Messiah who would destroy Judeo-Christian civilization.

On March 23, 1957, eight-year-old Tommy Bowman was hiking with his family on a trail above Devil's Gate when he ran ahead of his family, rounded a corner, and vanished. Tommy's family searched the nearby brush and repeatedly called his name, but found nothing. Soon, a 400-member search party was sent out, complete with helicopters, mounted patrols, bloodhounds, and professional trackers. After searching the area for a week, the search was called off.
Just three weeks after Tommy's disappearance, six-year-old Bruce Kremen was on a hike with his YMCA group not far from where the first incident occurred. Bruce began to tire and fell behind the others. Thinking the boy was exhausted, the group leader told Bruce to return to camp, which was in plain sight just 300 yards away. The leader watched Bruce walk the length of the wide, marked trail. The boy was just yards away from the camp, the leader rejoined the other children. However, Bruce Kremen never made it back to camp and was never seen again. Much like the first time, a massive search party tore the region apart. There was no evidence of a kidnapping or molestation. Bruce was never found.
