- In 1997 by a 15-year-old girl named Sophie, who encountered a miniature, multi-armed, fish-like humanoid near Makati City in the Philippines. This sighting occurred during her family’s fishing trips to Fort Bonifacio, where they would catch fish and insects in a shallow creek. Sophie’s account details her discovery of an unusual creature while inspecting the contents of her fishing net.
- Sophie thought she had caught a newt or salamander due to the creature’s small size—approximately half an inch—and its transparent appearance.
