The Pukehina Predator was the name given to a strange animal carcass that washed ashore on Pukehina Beach in New Zealand in June of 2014.
Appearance[]
The carcass reportedly stretched about 9 meters (30 feet) in length. It had a slender head with large teeth, and it possessed what appeared to be rudimentary flippers.
Possible Explanations[]
There are several explanations as to what the creature could be. Theories include:
- An undiscovered species (a Cryptid)
- A dead Zeuglodon
- A hoax (possibly a manufactured corpse)
- A dead killer whale

- According to marine mammal expert Anton van Helden, the carcass is likely the remains of a killer whale.
