The Stairway to Hell is a set of stairs rumored to reside somewhere near an abandoned church in the Stull Cemetery in Stull, Kansas. Supposedly, the stairs, if uncovered, will lead one directly to hell itself.
Background[]
In the 1900s, two great tragedies occurred in Stull. One involved a small boy who accidentally burned to death after getting trapped in a field of tall grass his father was igniting. The other involves a man who was reported missing and later found hanging from a tree.
Many rumors circulate about the church that stands in the cemetery. One legend states that taking two bottles, making the sign of the cross with them, and throwing them at the church wall will cause them to shatter. However, making an upside-down cross with them will cause them to not break no matter how hard they are thrown.
The staircase itself is rumored to be located somewhere around the church. The lid covering the staircase is covered in grass, making it difficult to locate. The legend states that if you go down them, it will take two weeks in real-world time to climb back up even though to the climber it will seem like several minutes at most.
