The Wall-Jumping Dog was a bizarre phenomenon encountered by an anonymous Fortean Times message board user in his own home.
As he and his brother wrestled on the floor, a small black Scottish Terrier-like dog jumped out of the wall where the user's chair currently was. The dog had a noticeably "confused" look on its face.
The phenomenon was described as a small black Scottish Terrier jumping out of a solid wall.
There are several explanations as to what the phenomenon could be. Theories include:
- An interdimensional rip
- This story was first told in a thread on the Fortean Times message board: here.
- A similar incident of a canine appearing seemingly out of nowhere is recorded in Saki's The Unbearable Bassington, which Will Burroughs later wrote was a folkloric creature from Tangiers called the Door Dog, a premonitory vision of death.
